I consider the Christmas story a myth. However, I find a metaphorical meaning in the story of Joseph. In the culture of that time, marrying a young woman who is pregnant would bring disgrace upon Joseph and his family. Yet, Joseph did not "cast her aside" There may be different reasons for his violation of culture, but I focus upon Joseph's love for Mary countering any pressure to abandon her. Joseph is then the true figure in the Christmas story (again, I do not view this story as historical). I think it is probable that Mary was raped (and therefore, dishonored and considered ineligible for marriage). There is the legend of Panthea, a Roman soldier. I do believe that Jesus was considered an outsider due to a disgraced origin. Perhaps the Christmas story may be considered as a parable to illustrate the power of love. After all, who would think it wise for a woman near to giving birth to travel to Bethlehem, particularly if on a bouncing donkey!!!

Christ was referring to the Church being built on the Rock of Revelation through the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is "The Rock" and chief Cornerstone of the Church. The majority of Muslims (who are followers of the Sunnah) do not believe the Quran is "eternal" in the sense of co-equal with God, so this false parallel about it having the same logical fallacy as the trinity does not apply. I am on youtube everyday, listening to Beth Moore or Robert Madu and self help videos. I do not know how I ended up here today, I search many, many topics. This is the first time I seen anything about Gnostic. I have been asking lately, "God who are you?" There are so many perceptions, I believe God meets me where I am and with the information I am willing to explore. I have always felt like feminin energy needs to be there, or here with me. I have embraced the Holy Spirit as this energy. I go back and forth, feeling like as a Christian I am in big trouble and I am in fear sometimes. I will keep asking God to be me with and lead me, reveal truth and remove all views and theory's that do not belong and are only confusing me. I need Wisdom, I will continue research it. Peace
